Up for review this month is Courtney DeFeo's
This was such a fun read. One that I both enjoyed personally as well as sharing with my family.
DeFeo has come up with a number of activities to drive home the various virtues that you can easily do during family devotional time. In fact, that's just what my husband did. Each night he would read the bible lesson in our Jesus Storybook Bible (which is what DeFeo suggests as a supplement) and talk through the author's points; then play the games she lists to reiterate the specific virtue.
Our children thoroughly enjoyed the special time together learning God's Word in an informative, yet lighthearted and fun way.
For the parental side, I too enjoyed how DeFeo mapped out the activities, but the meat behind each lesson was particularly inspiring. She truly has a gift for sharing the grace and love of Jesus.
I would most definitely recommend this book that is looking for an interesting way to start or add to family devotional time...or just to get ideas on child friendly ways to learn The Word together.
